About us
La Catrina MEXICO ® was born in 2019 from the growing love for Mexican food in the Netherlands. We opened our first restaurant in Amsterdam with a clear idea in mind. To create something no one else was doing: bridging the authentic flavours of Mexico with a fresh, modern twist.
In our family, entrepreneurship and culture have always gone hand in hand. For generations, we’ve been driven by a passion to share Mexico’s heritage with the world; its flavours, colours, and spirit. That same passion inspired us to start La Catrina, with the mission of bringing a piece of Mexico to every table, made with heart and authenticity.
Our logo takes inspiration from La Catrina, an iconic Mexican figure created in the early 20th century, a dressed-up skeleton lady who satirised high society and reminded everyone that, in the end, we are all the same. She represents humility, equality, and the joy of life, values that define who we are.
Guided by these principles, we’ve grown through honesty, compassion, and a commitment to quality, establishing ourselves as one of the most recognized names in Mexican fast casual dining in the Netherlands.
Today, you can find us in Amsterdam, The Hague, and Westfield Mall of the Netherlands, as we continue sharing our vision of Mexico, the way we live it, taste it, and believe it.
